WIPs, finished items, & crochet burnout! (March 2024)

Long time no blog! Some pretty major crochet burnout hit me in late autumn 2023. I made some Christmas gifts, and was also going absolutely bonkers for autumnal projects. My day job is also pretty intense, so by the time my two-week Christmas break hit, I was very ready for a lot of mindless downtime. I did the most sensible thing and spent ~350 hours working my way through Assassins Creeds Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla. I’m getting back into the crochet groove now and wanted to share a few recent snippets.

I’ve been going mad for the Sirdar Jewelspun Aran range (100% acrylic). I made some mittens (gifted to a friend) and a beanie for me, using the shade ‘setting sun’.

Also please admire my pumpkin hook from Pedro’s Plaques!!! Speaking of pumpkins… This is a sweet little pumpkin coaster/mug rug made in cotton. The pattern is a bargain at $2.50 from Mrs Moon & Heaven.

Other than longstanding WIPs there isn’t anything of note on my hook right now. I am very tempted to dive into this wrap pattern from AltKnots with another of the Sirdar Jewelspun Aran colours (‘nordic noir’). I probably should get back to the blankets or cardigan I have on the go, but I’m going to take it easy and return to them when I fancy it, rather than forcing myself.
