Ahoy, hello! My name is Jenny. I am a thirty-something human female from Manchester in the north of England. I enjoy rainy days and sad songs, custard donuts and salt & pepper chips and beer, lentil dhal and fried okra, X-Files and Twin Peaks, fierce fat heroines and mental health advocates, dogs and cats and otters and a very special beirdo. To paraphrase Sylvia Plath: "I blog because there is a voice within me that insists on writing lots of ridiculous chuff".

Ahoy blog chums! I hope you had a super duper weekend? Mine started out in a very rare and exciting manner: I put on a fancy frock and headed out with C to drink a couple of pale ales and watch the really very good Father John Misty (aka Josh Tillman) play at Manchester’s Albert Hall (which, by the way, was once the subject of an episode of Most Haunted….)

It was a super amazing performance, and a fun time was had by all. Tragically, my tonsillitis made a comeback on Saturday morning, so my vlogging plans were AGAIN thrown into disarray.

Perhaps now for some more meaningful content…? I’ve obviously been gettin’ super bodyposi this past week because I’ve collected quite a collection of links. I love the positivity of a couple of these; well worth checking out 🙂

I hope this week treats you all kindly, my blog chums! I’m hoping to enjoy a tonsillitis free weekend very soon….

  1. Tonsillitis is terrible, hope you’re feeling better. Love your sense of humor coming through in the the video, red lentils in a carrot, leek puree soup is a great idea! Thanks for the links too, always top notch.

    1. Thank you! I am pretty sure I am nearly recovered now, though am cautiously treating my tonsils very nicely!
