Forest Holidays 2018 – Argyll

Ahoy, hello! My name is Jenny. I am a thirty-something human female from Manchester in the north of England. I enjoy rainy days and sad songs, custard donuts and salt & pepper chips and beer, lentil dhal and fried okra, X-Files and Twin Peaks, fierce fat heroines and mental health advocates, dogs and cats and otters and a very special beirdo. To paraphrase Sylvia Plath: "I blog because there is a voice within me that insists on writing lots of ridiculous chuff".

Last year Mr J-M and I took out the week before Christmas proper and holed up in a luxury loch-side eco-cabin in Strathyre, Scotland. This year we did much the same, but chose a site in Argyll (also loch-side). The cabin was not quite so fancy, but we made the most of the beautiful, still scenery, and of the hot-tub and wood burner and general peace and solitude. I don’t have much to say about this very relaxed week of extreme relaxation so I’ll illustrate this post with a few photographs I took. (The sweet black labs you see here came along with Mr J-M’s sister who joined us this time around.)

Before we even left the site we booked our Christmas 2019 cabin getaway. Returning to the hustle and bustle of Manchester was quite a heartbreak.
