Friends, the festive season she approaches with speed! And here in the UK we are locked down once again, at least until early December, but possibly beyond. I therefore thought it would be a wonderful time to share with you all the lovely folks at Mettalife, a curated marketplace of ethical and vegan products produced by UK small businesses and brands. Mettalife kindly sent me a couple of products to try out in order that I could share with you all. You can read all about how Mettalife operates here, but I’ll go ahead and tell you a thing or two as well.
(Hello, these products were provided to me for free in exchange for my honest review. You know how picky I am about who I feature on m’blog though so you can be sure these are my real opinions!)
Mettalife is home to over 100 UK brands currently, with over 70 categories and 2,000 products available. The marketplace champions brands and businesses that promote sustainability and ethics, and all products are vegan-friendly. You’ll be pleased to know there is a dedicated Christmas/festive season section on the site right now too. I was happy to see that Mettalife recently highlighted some of its Black-owned businesses in the UK. I would love to see this as a filter-able category on the site!
One of those businesses was Butterwhips, and I was very lucky to be offered the chance to try out this delightful helichrysum and ylang ylang face butter (HEART EYES EMOJI)
I myself enjoy a face oil at bedtime, or some other rich and luxurious moisturiser for my skin. For the past few weeks, though, I’ve been using this product and it’s been an indulgent bedtime DELIGHT. Everyone deserves face butter for their face!! Butterwhips is the creation of Victoria, from Cambridgeshire, who wanted to produce organic and vegan-friendly products for her family, who were prone to dry sensitive skin, eczema, and dermatitis. The gift sets look absolutely top notch for Christmas!
Along with this lovely face butter, Mettalife also kindly sent me this beautiful water bottle from Neon Kactus.
Neon Kactus produces reusable coffee cups and water bottles that are plastic-free and made from 100% recyclable materials. The water bottle is dishwasher safe, and comes with a textured silicone sleeve and bamboo lid. I must say that the glass coffee cups are extremely handsome and I am very tempted to treat myself, as the last reusable coffee cup I bought definitely infused the coffee with a strange and slightly unpleasant taste; Neon Kactus boasts a product that doesn’t affect the taste of the coffee at all, which sounds like just the ticket for me!
Friends, I would recommend Mettalife for your gift-giving needs, and for everyday living as well. In these covid-turbulent times, supporting small businesses is more important than ever. What a wonderful way to shop for products that support UK small/indie businesses, whilst ensuring you only buy ethically-produced and vegan-friendly stuff. Please consider checking out Mettalife and having a browse!
