Forest Holidays 2018 – Argyll

Ahoy, hello! My name is Jenny. I am a thirty-something human female from Manchester in the north of England. I enjoy rainy days and sad songs, custard donuts and salt & pepper chips and beer, lentil dhal and fried okra, X-Files and Twin Peaks, fierce fat heroines and mental health advocates, dogs and cats and otters and a very special beirdo. To paraphrase Sylvia Plath: "I blog because there is a voice within me that insists on writing lots of ridiculous chuff".

Last year N and I took out the week before Christmas proper and holed up in a luxury loch-side eco-cabin in Strathyre, Scotland. This year we did much the same, but chose a site in Argyll (also loch-side). The cabin was not quite so fancy, but we made the most of the beautiful, still scenery, and of the hot-tub and wood burner and general peace and solitude. I don’t have much to say about this very relaxed week of extreme relaxation so I’ll illustrate this post with a few photographs I took. (The sweet black labs you see here came along with N’s sister who joined us this time around.)

Before we even left the site we booked our Christmas 2019 cabin getaway. Returning to the hustle and bustle of Manchester was quite a heartbreak.
